David George Ludwig (born April 28, 1987), received life in prison without parole for the murders of Michael and Cathryn Borden in Lititz, Pennsylvania on November 13, 2005. The Bordens daughter was Ludwigs’ girlfriend, Kara Beth Borden, who fled with him after the murders.
Ludwig was formally charged with two counts of criminal homicide, kidnap to facilitate a felony, recklessly endangering another person, statutory sexual assault, and firearms not to be carried without license. At his preliminary hearing on December 16, 2005, the state dropped the kidnapping count after it was determined that Kara Borden intended to run away with him to get married.

On June 14, 2006, Ludwig entered guilty pleas to two counts of first-degree murder and one count each of carrying a firearm without a license, reckless endangerment and statutory sexual assault. He recieved sentence of two life terms plus 9.5 to 19 years, to be served consecutively. Pennsylvania has no possibility of parple for life sentences so Ludwig will spend the remainder of his life behind bars.
