Jack the Riper
Who is Jack the Riper? No one knows for sure. It is a name a name given unidentified serial killer. The name originated in a letter sent to a London Central News Agency by someone claiming to be responsible for murders in London, England in the late 1888.
Women who were prostitutes, were the killers victims. There was little blood at the crime scenes so theories suggest that the victims were strangled in order to silence them. The bodies where mutilated and two of the women had their throats cut. The killer was thought to have anatomical or surgical knowledge because internal organs were removed from three of the victims.
The legends surrounding the murders have become a combination of historical research and folklore since the killer’s identity has never been confirmed.
